USES OF CARBON STEEL PLATES
Carbon steel plates can be used in a variety of industries thanks to their versatile applications. Thanks to the combined effect of carbon levels and other elemental levels, carbon steel plates are not often used for structural purposes. They offer differing durability that would make it ideal for various manufacturing and metal fabrication of parts.
A carbon steel plate can often be used to create vessels, boilers, and heat containers. Carbon steel is known to be corrosion resistant and can withstand low heats. When partnered with a finish of the client’s choosing, the quality of the steel is then enhanced for it to withstand various environments and usage.
Steel plates can also be used to create storage tanks and vessels, providing a durable structure to house a wide range of stock items such as oil, gas, water, and other products.
Carbon steel plates are also in high demand from the oil and gas industry as they require thick plates that can withstand corrosion and other elements.
Our carbon steel plates have the option of being customized to our client’s requirements. We can sheer, cut, slit-to-length based on the specifications submitted upon the initial order. The final product is then warehoused and shipped directly to the requested location from one of our multiple facilities.
BENEFITS OF CARBON STEEL PLATES
High carbon steel products contain an increased hardness compared to stainless steel materials. The alloy contains, at most, 2.5% carbon which makes it more durable than aluminum. The material is less likely to warp, deform, or scratch under heat or force. A carbon steel product can withstand high weight loads. To increase its corrosion-resistant properties, customers can also order paint or finishes based on their specifications.
