Red & Specialty Metals

•	Specialty Metals from American Douglas Metals

American Douglas Metals offers a variety of specialty or red metals, such as alloys, that are important elements in the manufacturing of industrial machinery and devices, as well as construction materials.

As leaders in the manufacturing and processing of metals, ADM offers its specialty/red metals in a variety of formats and custom-designed shapes,
using the following:

Brass – A zinc and copper metal alloy with select variants. Brass can literally be found in all industries looking to use a highly malleable metal. From tubing, fittings and nozzles in water fixtures to decorative hinges and kick plates for doors. Musical instruments are often made of brass as well as engraving plates for trophy's or signs.

Bronze – A copper and tin metal alloy with select variants. Bronze is the key material in most bushings and bearings. The wear ability of bronze allows for replaceable parts as opposed to the failure of much more expensive components. Automotive, Oil and Gas, and Machine Building are large consumers of bronze alloys.

Copper – A red metal in pure form, available in different variants. Copper is a key element in water flow such as tube and piping for commercial and residential construction. Most machinery with some form of liquid coolant will in many cases use copper tube. The high electrical conductivity of copper makes it the front runner in power distribution, transformers and electrical substations. Copper can also be used in decorative applications in home construction and roofing.

Nickel – A silvery metal, available as a copper alloy (cupronickel). Nickel, another highly malleable metal is the key ingredient added to stainless steel to make the metal more formable. Many appliances, utensils and food processing equipment have different degrees of nickel alloyed stainless steel to allow the parts to be spun or deep drawn.

Other Alloys – A diverse set of metal alloys, including Muntz metal.
A long list of metal alloys with a variety of tempers are available to American Douglas Metals. Key industries are automotive, building
and construction, power distribution, food processing equipment, medical instrumentation, aerospace, defense and many, many more.
